Business Development Data Analyst · London

Hi, I'm Miriam. I turn data into decisions

Psychology graduate turned data analyst, now in business development at Lansdowne Partners. I pair statistical rigour with a real understanding of how people think, so the insights I build don't just look right. People act on them.

01 / The story

From why people do things to what the data says about it.

Seven chapters, one thread: curiosity about people, turned into commercial insight.

  1. Ch. 07 Oct 2026 – Present Current role

    Lansdowne Partners · London

    Business Development Data Analyst

    Bringing everything together.

Miriam now works at Lansdowne Partners, a long-established London investment manager. Her role sits where data meets relationships: turning information into insight that helps the business development team prioritise, prepare and win. It uses every part of her background: analytical rigour from Fabacus, commercial instinct from Fenwick, and a psychologist's sense of what people need to hear.

  2. Ch. 06 Jun 2025 – Oct 2026 Promoted in 6 months

    Fabacus · 1 yr 5 mos

Customer Success Coordinator → Junior Data Analyst

    Into the data, fast.

She joined tech company Fabacus on the commercial front line, onboarding clients, qualifying leads, prospecting with LinkedIn Sales Navigator and keeping HubSpot pipelines clean and moving. She kept spotting patterns in the data, and within six months she was promoted into the data team.

As a Junior Data Analyst she owned the work from start to finish: cleaning and processing raw data, running exploratory analysis, and building reports and performance dashboards in Amazon QuickSight and Excel that gave commercial teams a clear view of pipeline, accounts and performance. Having sat on the sales side herself, she built tools people actually used.

  3. Ch. 05 Aug 2024 – May 2025

    Fenwick · Full-time

    Commercial Operations Team Lead

Learning commerce on the shop floor.

At one of Britain's best-known department stores, Miriam led a team and owned the numbers behind it. She tracked sales trends, produced KPI reports, analysed the market and managed stock so the right products were in the right place.

As Duty Manager she ran the store on the day, solving problems under pressure while keeping the team motivated. Clienteling gave her something no dashboard can: first-hand knowledge of what customers want and why they buy.

  4. Ch. 04 Jul – Sep 2023

    GSK

    Diversity, Equity & Inclusion Intern

Research that changes a global organisation.

At one of the world's largest pharmaceutical companies, Miriam supported the DE&I strategy from the evidence up. She designed surveys, ran quantitative and qualitative research, contributed to accessibility design reviews, and turned the findings into presentations and internal communications that helped put strategy into practice.

It showed her a formula she still uses: rigorous research + a clear story = real change.

    Going global, and acing it.

Miriam swapped Coventry for Hong Kong and finished with a perfect 4.0 GPA, taking Economics and Social Problems, Theories of Social Policy, Cross-Cultural Psychology and Psychology of Personality while also studying Mandarin and French.

Living and studying in a new culture built the adaptability and intercultural communication that make her easy to work with anywhere. She also qualified in Mental Health First Aid with the Mental Health Association of Hong Kong.

Assistant Manager · Marketing Officer & Social Secretary

Leading with purpose, while still studying.

Alongside her degree, Miriam helped run a store for Barnardo's, one of the UK's best-known children's charities. She led volunteers, handled cash and GDPR-sensitive data, mentored young people and drove fundraising.

At the same time she ran marketing and socials for the Warwick Arab Society, building its brand, planning events and managing the budget. Two leadership roles at once, on top of a psychology degree.

  7. Ch. 01 Where it began

    University of Warwick · Microsoft

BSc Psychology with Year Abroad · 2:1

    The curious mind.

Psychology taught Miriam the most useful question in business: why do people do what they do? Modules such as Statistical Methods in Psychology, Psychobiology, and Negotiation & Influence gave her a toolkit that is half quantitative (SPSS, psychometrics, research design) and half human (persuasion, behaviour, decision-making).

The interest in tech started early: a Microsoft internship in 2016 gave her a first look at how a global technology company works.
